Student Drop Off and Pick Up
Each year dropping off and picking up students at all of the schools in Ankeny tends to be a little stressful. We can all help with this by following the guidelines below, planning ahead, and demonstrating the same character we see in our students each day.
The Crossing Guards provided by the City of Ankeny do a tremendous job of keeping the students safe. With the help of our school custodians and safety patrol team members we can provide a very safe environment for the students to enter and depart Northeast Elementary School.
Buses Only - North Side (enter from 18th Street)
The north side will be used during the hours of 7:15 – 8:15 a.m. and 2:00 – 3:15 p.m. as a bus pick up lane and daycare providers only. No other vehicles will be allowed to use the drive at that time. Day care students will report to the designated area to meet up with daycare providers before leaving.

South Side (enter traveling north on Trilein Drive only)
Any non-bus student may enter or exit the building using the south doors. Students may wait on the playground for their rides. All parents must park their vehicles and walk to the designated pick-up areas to meet their children. Students will not be released to walk into the parking lot. We ask that you enter the parking lot going north on Trilein Drive.

West Side (Main Entrance – enter traveling south on Trilein Drive only)
Any non- bus student may enter or exit the building using the west main doors. Parents are asked to enter the parking lot from the south and exit from the north. Cars are not permitted to park in the driveway, only in designated parking spaces. Please stay with your car, as this will keep the line moving.

All students who arrive at school before 7:45 a.m. will report directly to the gym. There will be no adult on duty before 7:30 a.m.
**This year the Elementary School day begins at 7:55am and we dismiss at 2:45pm
**On Wednesday Late-Starts, Gym supervision will start at 8:30am and school will start at 8:55am.

Special Days at Northeast
When we have special occasions at Northeast parking can be a problem. On these days (Holiday Parties, In-Service Early-Outs, etc.) you will be able to park in the south and west parking lots, the unpaved section in the north lot, or the side streets west of the main entrance. The north parking lot is not an option.
